This is a black and white picture with an upside down triangular sign in the very middle. On the left of the sign is a house with a white caravan outside it and a massive pine tree behind it. On the right of the sign, there is another huge tree which has grown into the shape of a triangle and a car parked in front of it. What looks like on top of the sign is a cloud with three lumps making it look like an ice-cream. Running down the right side of the image is also a road with a car, just in sight, at the end of it.
In the foreground there is the triangular sign and heading into the middle ground is the white caravan, the pine tree, and the parked car on the right. In the background there is the white house, the triangular tree, and the road that leads back into the foreground again. The whole picture is in focus and the photo has been framed so that there is a triangle on each side of the sign. I find the cloud on top of the sign most captivating part of the image because if the cloud was anywhere else, the photographer wouldn't have been able to capture the exact image they wanted. It was perfect timing...
If I were to meet the artist behind this photo, I would most likely ask them:
What were you thinking whilst taking the picture?
When did you take this?
Where is this taken?
Does this place mean anything to you?
In my opinion, I wouldn't really like to live in this photo because I can't see any people which means you would have no one to talk to or hang out with, other than the caravan and the house, there's nowhere to go either. I think it would be very boring living in this image. Maybe the artist noticed the cloud on top and realised if he lined it up with the sign, it would look like the cloud was sitting on top. He may have then noticed that the tree on the right and the house on the left both represented triangles and would've lined them up to create a symmetrical look with the sign in the middle being the main triangle.
One part of the photo that I think is effective is the 4 triangles all lined up together. Without the trees and the house as triangles, it would just be seen as a sign... Another effective part would be the cloud on top of the sign. Again, without the cloud it would just be a sign. In my opinion, the road running down the right side of the frame doesn't work as well as the rest of the picture. in my opinion, all the triangles together seems quite magical and seeing the road running down the side ends the triangular theme and ruins the effect.
