John Baldessari is the man in the photo above. He took this photo to show how "wrong" it was, such as he wasn't in the centre of the photo and it's "too dark" just from this one image we can criticise it that much already when really... there's nothing actually "wrong" with it.
Personally, I think the photo is quite interesting. I don't know why Baldessari is standing there but the black and white effect with the worn out texture brings out an aged effect along with the old fashioned car on the side and the houses. |

Here are two of my bad pictures.. I’ve taken these to represent our “wrong” topic. In my opinion, the photo on the left is very out of focus and there’s no subject, I achieved this effect by shaking the camera whilst pressing the shutter button.
However, in the photo on the right, there is a subject but it is out of the frame therefore it’s doesn’t give a strong symmetrical look like it would’ve in the centre of the frame and people don't usually take photos facing upwards... I achieved this effect by placing the subject in the centre of the frame then moving the camera to the side. |
Here's the rest of my 'wrong' photos...
In my opinion, I believe this was the most enjoyable topic so far as I was given the opportunity to be as creative as I could, unlike normal topics like the photo safari etc. This was a chance to let go of worries and the fear of pictures turning out boring, rubbish or "wrong". I am happy with the outcome of all my photos especially the close up of the tap and paintbrushes because that one was not actually supposed to blur out the tap and focus on the brushes yet by chance it did and I feel like the added depth to the image makes it much more visually interesting, for it makes the viewer wonder what really is the focus of it.
